Job description


This position will be responsible for developing, leading and executing our marketing strategy across all media and channels, presenting the brand at a very high level in the social media and managing events at the shipyard and abroad. A unique opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-moving business in the superyacht segment. We are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated and pro-active person to elevate our presence across the board.

You are expected to be up-to-date with the latest marketing tools, digital technologies and social media trends, have strong planning skills and be open to work in a flexible key role.

Create and maintain new marketing campaigns, brand promotions or yacht projects for ICON Yachts on different sites, monitor progress using web analytic tools, and answer directly to media inquiries, all while using the company’s voice and guidelines.


  • As a Marketing Coordinator at ICON, you are responsible for the operational planning, management, implementation and control of communication and marketing measures (online/offline) as well as for the adherence to and further development of our corporate identity and marketing strategy.
  • In the context of online marketing, you will look after our website as well as all other media channels incl. CMS, social media, SEO/SEA etc. in order to further increase the visibility of ICON. (Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content independently)
  • You plan and execute the creation and publication of (digital) editorial articles as well as communication measures in the field of marketing and public relations. You will act as an interface to external contacts, internal experts and media agencies. The focus is on coordination as well as on the creation of content.
  • You will be responsible for campaign planning and coordination in relation to our projects and services as well as current trend and focus topics. Also, you will lead the operational management and implementation of various projects such as events/boat shows. Through controlling in the context of campaign implementation, you will always have an eye on the economic success of the campaigns.
  • As a marketing manager, you will be responsible for adhering to schedules and budgets and for the high quality of the campaigns and marketing measures.
  • You will create Graphic designs, help Sales with press release imagery, invitations, client and marketing presentation material to present new build projects and/or conversions to clients. 


Location : Required to work flexible, part time presence at regular weekly intervals in Harlingen required.

Timeframe : Full Time


  • You have a degree in the field of online or digital marketing or comparable qualifications.
  • You have proven experience in managing performance marketing and social media advertising campaigns.
  • You have extensive knowledge and operational experience in the areas of SEA, SEO and web analytics and tracking.
  • Solid experience with social media management and monitoring tools.
  • Accurate knowledge of common social media channels and features.
  • Passion for social media, creative storytelling and the production of contemporary content.
  • Good knowledge of common graphics programs for the creation of media and graphics content.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in event organization.

Job description

Task:  To generate sales by increasing sales leads and further promote the ICON Yachts brand awareness. Lead PR and Marketing efforts and closely liaise with the project development team and shareholders to bring leads to successful contracts.

The candidate will be required to efficiently execute all aspects of sales, actively working the existing contacts as well as generating new client relations.  He / she has to drive the initial personal contact with brokers, client representatives and captains.  To actively join contract negotiations with above and clients including the final closing.

A high level of self-motivation, creativity and ‘out of the box’ thinking will be required to maintain an involved and leading contact with all parties involved.  Flexibility in work approach and getting a job done is essential.

The candidate will be required to maintain a clean and representable dress code and be active and driven to create new ideas and ways to push the ICON brand forward.  In personal contacts a dynamic and positive, solution minded approach is essential.

The team consists of a small group and an active and open dialogue within the team will benefit the successful, quick and efficient handling of inquiries, responses and with promotional activities.

The successful candidate will have degree level education (BSc minimum) qualified; further qualifications in marketing are an asset but not essential. Previous sales management experience in the yachting sector is important to achieving early success in the role. The final candidate is exceptionally passionate about the sector.   • Working closely with the Head of Project Development and the Directors on all levels of sales leads, new market sectors, CRM, promotional activities and marketing support.
  • To contribute to the research and development of new technologies and processes, acting upon those that deliver Added Brand Value, and implementing in a way that delivers long term business advantage.
  • To perform a highly motivated team culture within the Project Development and Sales team that sets the ICON brand at the fore front of the reputable Dutch Super yacht builders.
  • To review business processes and procedures, identifying and acting upon opportunities to deliver continuous improvements in business performance, with particular emphasis on creativity and marketing opportunities.
  • Prepare presentation material to capture the client’s imagination and seek to always exceed the expected whilst maintaining a careful eye on given budget restrictions.
  • To support PR, Marketing and Events and represent ICON at shows or promotional activities.
  • Due to the nature of a shipyard every employee is required to contribute to the seamless functioning and operation of the production department. Hence it will be necessary to perform tasks that are outside of the core work scope such as creating and providing timely documentation, assist the timely delivery of vessels and organize shipyard events.
  • To actively promote the brand by stimulating publications, interviews and written articles.
