Shortly after the new owner acquired Meridian (originally built as Maidelle), an extensive schedule of modifications was agreed with the yard and she steamed to Harlingen. With his plans for extensive world cruising, the Owner requested specific modifications for cruising plans, ranging from an air-conditioned tender garage, customized spare parts storage system, conversion of the forward observation lounge to a second master suite and storm proof awnings on all exterior decks. In total we managed to complete more than 200 jobs in only seven weeks of yard time.
