MISSION-M

50M Explorer Yacht

MISSION-M is designed to be the most rugged, reliable and safe long-range expedition yacht on the market. Built on the ICON 50 Technical Platform, she combines an efficient, ocean-going hull with generous interior volumes.

As a semi-custom project, MISSION-M offers owners the flexibility to personalize the layout and interior within defined technical boundaries, such as watertight integrity and fire zones. This allows for significant customization on major aspects to suit individual preferences.

MISSION-M is to be built by Dutch Master Yacht Builder ICON Yachts, renowned for its expertise in building and converting large expedition yachts. This makes her a top choice for owners looking to push the boundaries of exploration.

The yacht is built with a strong focus on range, autonomy, and reliability. Designed to operate in the world’s most remote regions, her systems are kept simple and easy to maintain. Where appropriate, commercial-grade components are used to maximize uptime and ensure long-term durability.

With a tall, flared bow, MISSION-M offers excellent stability and safety in rough seas. Her hull is Ice Class 1D certified, and she holds a Polar Code C rating, making her ready for Arctic voyages.

With safety as a key priority, MISSION-M will be designed and engineered according to the rules and regulations of Yachts over 500GT which further adds to her long range cruising capabilities and dedication to remote exploration. Her 7000nm range underlines this as usually similar ranges are only found on Vessel much larger.

The Design

The unique split-level design stretches over 6 Decks and creates an exceptional sense of space and volume. Inspired in design by the commercial offshore industry, she features a 270° Bridge and a spacious adjacent Sky Lounge, allowing guests to be part of the journey and mission planning.

The open 10-meter Aft Ddeck is equipped with a heavy duty commercial-grade crane capable of lifting up to 9.6 tons with a 15-meter reach. The deck can be flexibly arranged and can carry large tenders up to 10 meters or up to two custom-outfitted 20-foot expedition container modules. Powered by two Main Engines and a conventional shaft-driven setup, the oversized Engine Room allows for easy service and maintenance access.

The Owner is accommodated on a private Owner’s Deck with its own balcony, while guests are enjoying their stay in four comfortable Guest Suites on the Lower Deck. Crew and staff accommodations are distributed efficiently across decks, with pantries and service areas supporting smooth operations.

Purpose Vessel

In an optional science configuration, the open Aft Deck can hold two 20-foot containers. One Laboratory Module and a separate Staff Module for up to four Scientists, so MISSION-M becomes a platform for Scientific Research and Ocean Conservation, making her a true Purpose Vessel.
