ICON Yacht

Project MASTER, a Family Explorer

After conversion, MASTER will join some of the most sophisticated luxury explorer yachts on the planet with true go-anywhere capabilities.

Reborn from a offshore rescue vessel, MASTER will be a true world traveller designed and built to give her Owner, his family and guests unforgettable memories of the world’s most remote places.

The platform, from Rescue Vessel to Expedition yacht MASTER

MASTER was ‘born’ as MV HAVILA TIGRIS, a Rolls-Royce/Ulstein 1,864 GT design built in Norway by the Kleven Verft in 2001.

She was sold 2007 and renamed MV OCEAN NESS, then entered Atlantic Offshore’s fleet of high-end multi-role vessels specialising in emergency response and rescue vessel operations out of Aberdeen (Scotland).

Propulsion System

MASTER will be equipped with a new state-of- the-art diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system meeting current and future environmental standards. It complies with the IMO Tier III regulations dealing with emission reduction.

Five highly efficient diesel generators produce electrical power and enable the vessel to travel vast distances at a comfortable 10 knots cruising speed. The Voith eVSP propellers have been chosen with ease of manoeuvring and quiet DP operations in mind.

Project MASTER, a Family Explorer

Project MASTER will offer opportunities for marine research, education, and conservation, aiming to raise awareness about the challenges our oceans confront. With the invaluable support of our network of partners, Project MASTER has garnered significant contributions to maximize its scientific potential. These contributions encompass a range of activities, from sub-diving with state-of-the-art sonar equipment to aid in mapping the ocean floor and identifying new marine species, to hosting scientists on board and allocating space for a world-class laboratory. This enables scientists to share their findings and knowledge with guests in real-time.
